Scheduling and Monitoring Committees Set

On September 11, the Local 7 executive reviewed the submissions received from CEP members wishing to participate either on the OPS Monitoring and Office Committee and the Clerical Monitoring and Scheduling Committee.

The executive felt it was important to ensure continuity on the committees, while at the same time allowing all interested members an opportunity to participate. Based on factors such as, scheduling experience, seniority, knowledge of the collective agreement, knowledge of the intent expressed at the bargaining table, as well as overall representation of the membership, the executive has appointed those members participating on the committees for the first year.

The Executive also recommended the following process for filling the positions on the committees:

At the end of the 1st year, one position will become available. The Executive will review the process to determine its feasibility, as well as which position is to become available. At that time the Local will canvass the membership for interest in the available position.

At the end of the 2nd year, a second position will become vacant and again the membership will be canvassed for interest.

At the end of the 3rd year, a third position will become vacant and again the membership will be canvassed for interest.

The selection for the aforementioned committees will be as follows:
